showing off or not, he's obviously putting a lot more effort in than most - maybe give him some praise, open conversation and....two like minded people come together!

When I was training my girl for working trials, I had to do training all over the place to generalise it - no use doing it only in quiet areas where there is no-one around, believe me

I think your post was meant humourously though so I can certainly giggle a bit at what it can look like sometimes

From the humour side I agree it does look funny....from the on lookers point.
Whilst out yesterday I watched a man with his dog on a extension lead, I persumme he was training, but as the dog got a little ahead, he said sit and the dog responsed straight away. From where I was standing it did look funny

I train my dogs in public - in very busy places. - because I want them to behave in public. For general training, the more distractions, the better.

Woody nevber gets ''just a walk'', we are always doing various training and games with him, especially using his retrieve dummy which he just adores.

I've never once thought I should keep this to special places so I don't offend people. I also walk about feeling dead proud of him but can't say I've ever done it on purpose to '''show off''.
