I just feel like crying - Cruciate Ligament!

I am sat here on the brink of tears, after many many visits to the vet i have just been told that her cruciate ligament could have snapped - i am in shock.

She has a sore foot and at the top of her tail she has been licking her fur away causing sores. The last few days she has been limping slightly but has also been charging around the garden also....so i didn't think anything major.

Anyway.....she will be sedated tomorrow for x ray etc and we will know more.

Kind healing thoughts needed here tonight please....i just can't believe it...........

Any info on cruciate ligament would be a help.

http://www.vetspecialists.co.uk/06_A..._Ligament.html this is intereting.

Dogs may take up to 4 months to fully recover from cruciate surgery. The first 6 post operative weeks require the greatest degree of restriction in the dogs' activity levels. Animals should be confined to one level of the house, taken outside on a lead for toilet purposes and short walks and be restricted from activities likely to overload the repair. This would include free running, jumping up, climbing stairs and running on slippery surfaces. Some people with laminate floors have temporarily carpeted this for the post operative period and I've known some owners to sleep downstairs during the recovery phase so their dog can avoid the stairs!
