Two meals a day?

At what age should I switch to two meals a day?

Puppy is now 14 weeks old and I've had an email newletter from Pedigree that suggests now is the time to get them on 2x meals a day instead of three.

I just wondered if this was ok? It would give us an extra few mins of walking time at lunch time if it was!

I would have thought 14 weeks was far too early to switch to 2 meals. At 14 weeks mine have all still been on 4 meals, I usually let the dog dictate when they want fewer meals.

5-6 months is usually when I've cut mine to two meals.

at least 6 months

every dog is different some will naturally go off the amount of meals you feed them in their own time but others would gladly stay on four meals for the rest of the lives if their owners let them o.0''

Mine is 13 weeks and is on two meals. She is a very delicate/fussy eater and refused to eat anything but a mouthful when I had her on four, and she always gets a kong or kibble as training treats in the afternoon which I guess counts as a third meal. So I don't always think the four meal policy works with particular dogs.

I've not had him on 4 meals ever! He has breakfast at 6am, lunch at 12pm and supper at 6pm. I'll keep him on three a while longer then.

He's a Border Terrior is when in the mood he'd probably eat 20x his own body weight!

If you`re feeding Pedigree you might want to change to a better food. Pedigree is notorious for giving dogs loose motions.
The dog will let you know when to change. I cut out one meal when the dog starts picking at one.

Don't worry, he's not on Pedigree, I just signed up to their newsletter as an additional source of information!
