yeah I've heard people call it that before, but this is real traditional lobby. Do you live in stoke? Surely this isn't just a burslem or tunstall thing, because everyone I know around here calls it lobby, and its just whatever you can fit into your pressure cooker. I think it all started when times were a lot harder and people didn't waste anything, so any left overs were lobbed into the pressure cooker and you all had it for your tea for a few days. Now though its a local delicacy, and everyone lets everyone else know when they've had lobby for their tea. Oatcakes are a delicacy around these parts too, as I'm sure you know wheaten mad, and can be eaten at anytime of the day, any day of the year.

As you can tell, I like food. I eat nothing else.

Made a cheese and onion potato pie last night and it was yummy.

You need mashed spud and slow cooked onions in olive oil (about 30 mins until they're soft and sticky).

Spoon half the mash into an oven dish.
Stick onions on top and some black pepper.
Crumble cheese on top (the recipe said stilton but I used English cheddar)
Stick the rest of the mash on top.
Top with grated parmesan.
Oven bake for 2 - 30 mins until it's golden brown and crispy on top.

Serve with veggies (or whatever you like)

OK all you Scots - ingredients & instructions for making Stovies please

As you may, or may not, know Mr SB is Scottish. I have been trying to produce Stovies "like mum used to make" for decades. I am determined, with your help, to conquer the blasted dish, so bring them on
