Dog Names

Hi everyone. This is my first post, so please be gentle. After what seems like years of research and meeting various breeders, I have decided to get a male Vizsla puppy. As a relatively experienced dog owner, I want to find an unusual name for our new arrival. We have narrowed it down to three names: Jura (a whisky name, so to reflect the beautiful Vizsla brownish coat), Django (from the recent film), and Roman. Originality of name is important, but I would love your thoughts on my choices, and if you have any ideas, I would be grateful. Thank you for reading my post. Errol

Welcome! Another place to look for unique names might be Greek mythology.

I agree with Nippy ... a Hungarian name for a Hungarian Viszla! By the way "kutya" is pronounced "coo -tchya".

Some other ideas ...

"Kan" which is Hungarian for a male dog is "kaan".
"Okos" means "smart" pronounced "okosh".
"Bela" a popular mans name pronounced "Beylar"
"Tokaj" where the wine comes from, pronounced "Tock-aye".
"Fontos" means important .. "fontosh".
Other names that spring to mind are .. Zoltan, Gabor and Milan (Mee-lan").

Hope that gives you more ideas!
