Vacuum cleaners

Any recommendations for good vacuum cleaners that will do carpets, floors and wood and are good at getting rid of dog hair?

I've looked at some Miele's on the Which site and they look like they might be good?

Hey hun

Got a new Dyson 'animal' the other week, picks up the two sheeps worth of fur that my dogs shed, off the carpet every day very good and you can raise the brush bar to do hard floors etc. It's not bad.

I have the dyson animal, but not the upright version (they are too heavy for me)
I got 3 different heads with it, and lots of tools.
Excellent for picking up hair - use different heads for carpet/hard floors etc

Yup, I've got the Dyson Animal upright and with the hair of 4 dogs to contend with it does a mighty fine job

I have a Dyson DC04. It is wonderful! I could never go back to what I call a 'normal' vacuum. I have had it 9 years and it has worked hard every day and only been repaired once!

Have to agree, the Dyson, tried others, no contest. And with my lot I have enough hair to challenge most vacs.

Have to agree. The "others" just can't cut it (or is that suck it?). Has to be DYSON every time.

One happy DC04 owner who was previously a DC01 owner
