Too clever for his own good...

To stop Murphy eating so fast, I decided to put a ball in his food bowl...

(Can you see where this is going yet?)

I used a solid rubber ball we have and popped it in his bowl before putting it down.

Murphy just dove straight in, munching away. He then realised that the ball was in his way.

He picked up the ball, took it over to his bed, pushed it into the blankets and returned to his bowl and carried on eating

So, there's that idea out of the window!!

That is clever - Hoki's never worked that out (or perhaps she has but has realised that she would have to stop eating to take the ball out, so doesn't bother )

Someone told me that you can get molded dog dishes - i.e. they have lumps sticking out of the bottom so that the dogs have to eat round them. If you're worried about the speed he's eating, might be worth looking into.

Clever dog! I tried this with Charlie but he just pushed the ball out too, now I'm throwing his food all over the hall floor to slow him down!!!
