Well, it really CAN only happen to me Got all psyched up, arrived at the vets, only to be told the vet who specialises in the endescopes is off sick today, and the other vet who does them isn't quite as proficient as her, she can't see the subtle changes that might be there, so it's far better for me to wait now until Wednesday morning when this vet will be back at work. My own vet who could have done it is on holiday I spoke to another one I know very well, but she says she's too busy doing ops today and it's very time consuming and she's not very good at it.

I'm prepared to wait I said if the condition isn't life threatening, but they said as long as she can keep some food down and is poo'ing ok and bright in herself, we'll be ok.

So, you can temporarily turn off the dogsey vibes now then and switch 'em back on for us on Wednesday morning - Zena's got a reprieve she can now have a good run out in the fields!!! Oh lordy, only me!

Sending you and Zena massive hugs...what a roller coaster ride for you both...better to wait for the more experienced vet though...

As you say never ignore your gut instinct...sorry Ive only just caught up with this thread...

I doubt it is the same but can I just say about my boxer who had almost the same type of vomiting problems and patterns as poor Zena?

I will give you a snapshot of what it was. It was diagnosed by barium meals and endoscopy with biopsies and was first diagnosed (eventually) when she was about 18 months old (she also had renal problems since a pup which confused issues).

She had whats caused pyloric stenosis. She was given anti emetics which worked then didn't so had surgery which sorted the problem out-finally. As I say I doubt its the same but just something you could have a look into...

I will of course send her huge loads of vibes for Weds...I hope you get a diagnosis and it can be easily sorted out...

Thanks Lynn, Sheree and BoxerG

Oh that's very interesting to read about, but of course, I'm sorry to hear your poor dog suffered with similar too, it's not nice to watch them vomiting on a daily basis is it

I chatted with the head nurse this morning and strangely enough, her own dog had the very same thing, the sausage shaped vomit in the middle of a meal with some partly digested from the stomach and she said what the previous vet had told me about the irritable bowel. She said they did the barium and endescope but couldn't find anything other than subtle changes in the bowel which gave them the diagnosis. She kindly got me some very special tinned food, which is D/D vennison coz she said her dog did very well on it, it's very nutritious and you don't have to feed so much.

Seeing as I'm on a sticky wicket here for another 2 days, I'm only going to feed her two meals now, I know breakfast will be held down, so I'll leave the next meal until 8pm tonight and see if we don't get any returns that way, because I'm hoping the food would have gone through from this morning.

Thanks for leaving my vibes on "hold" for now guys! They've both just had a good walk up the top even though it's raining, I was glad to be able to get them out for a proper walk.

Oh how annoying for you, getting all ready for it all weekend too! Well, I shall continue to send vibes and perhaps they will build up into one huge one on the day!

was just coming on to wish you luck and then read your posts....Grrrrrrrrrrrrr........ I thought that was the sort of thing that only happened to me.... lol
It's funny, when you begin to discuss your problem with someone else it's amazing how many other people have or have experienced the same problem..... and come out the other side.......so hopefully they will find out what is occurring with Zena and get her sorted. It sounds like you are suffering more than her though at the moment, always the way isn't it? Will put my thoughts on hold till Wednesday........ Gillxx

Oh Helena, I do feel for you but if it's any help this seems to happen to me sometimes too

Basically, the advice is correct, if she keeps some food down, her pooh is OK, and she's active with bright eyes and wet nose, then it's not life threatening which I think is some consolation.

OK Dogsey vibes switched to standby until Wednesday
