I'm not surprised that you are upset and you have every reason to be. You have taken it as a slur on your lovely dog Rox and yourself. The woman was just totally ignorant, and shame on her for ruining both of the dogs fun ...... the dogs must have wondered what an earth was going on.

Put it behind you and just take heed that most dog owners aren't as ignorant.

Thanks guys.

Im just fed up really - feels like all the fundraising and awareness stuff ive done is all in vain when people still think of staffies in that way.

Shes a fantastic example of the breed and im sure she will do me proud at the county show tomorrow

i cant believe how nasty some people can be, i personally think dog aggression is down to a factor of things Bloodlines- certain breeds were bred for certain jobs
Genetics, if you have an aggressive parent that could be a trait passed on to the pups.
Owners-depending on how they are raised and taught, and socialized (if you batter a dog it might just bite back)
I believe its simular to parents with children, we pass on certain traits like tempers and teach children how to deal in certain situations when stressed, and how we deal with naughty behaviour, not everyone parents the same, and not everyone teaches dogs the same. (hope this all makes sense) that is my opinion. I think its wrong to just assume that a dog is going to be a danger just because of its breed, some breeds there are reasons to be causious but im sure the owner will know better than anyone when it comes to their dog.

Hope you have a lovely day today with Roxy. She will do you proud!

You'll have to let the numpty owner of the scruffy poodle know how well Roxy has done today next time you come across her on your walk.

I would have been irked by her attitude as well. Silly woman.

What a shame! Sorry that you had to hear that, surely she saw that Roxie was being good and her dog was enjoying it?
