How to teach "cross your paws"

Hi have been using clicker to teach tricks, can't quite work out how to teach cross your paws, do i use target stick with foot touch or just try & shape a give paw in the down? i sure some one has a simple answer & i probably making it way too complicated.
Thanks

Hi Kathryn I haven't taught cross paws with clicker, in simple terms I teach it by watching and waiting until the behaviour is 'offered' then adding a word and treating, and also with the dog in the 'down' position getting it to offer the paw and gradually moving my hand to a position where the dog has to cross legs to place the paw in my hand ,then adding a word and treating.

I have also found this more detailed clicker method for you..

I taught Bertie by getting him to give me a paw in the down, then gradually moving my hand further across, so eventually my hand was out of his reach and he put it down on his other paw.
