Michelle, Staffie, DOB 09 - Gatwick, Surrey

Michelle, Staffie, DOB 09 - Gatwick, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Michelle needs a dog experienced family to find her easy. She would love a balanced life style with a garden and regular walks. She would prefer to be an only pet.

Her Story: Michelle was found stray in Yorkshire. She was homed from the pound and bounced back 2 weeks later with the family having not vax; chipped nor spayed her. Not impressed. She came to us still very swollen from her last season so finally spayed her early Jan. Now chipped and starting vax. course.

Advert: Michelle is as pretty as they come. She is feminine and cute. A small Staffie, she uses her good looks to have you eating out of her paw! She is friendly and wins friends. She can be quite growly in the sense- she engages, sees life and chooses to comment on it! She can complan if dogs are to 'up close' too soon. But just a grumble nothing more.

Michelle makes heads turn. Her sweet little Staffie nature makes cheeks turn also, as people find themselves bending down to be rewarded … "wet kisses on both cheeks" if not on the nose! Michelle walks well alongside dogs, but is not sure she would want to share space indoors with another dog. Who can blame her - her people are her everything. Michelle is ready and raring to go ... HOME! Forever home needed ... this little gem needs people to love her for their own. In return: bags of golden kisses.

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***.

Michelle went into a home on trial with a family with a 6 year old child. She excelled in every way and was the perfect dog. However, she was very nervous of the child and the family felt that they weren’t right for her. This is what they said:

“With a very heavy heart we're going to have to return Michelle as the situation with Ruby (our daughter) is getting worse. We met a dog behaviourist yesterday and it turns out Michelle is petrified of Ruby and has probably never been in close contact with small children. She's ok with older children but she's growled at everyone of Ruby's friends of similar age. The behaviourist said it's not fair on Michelle to keep her in a house with a small child because she is that scared. To us humans it looks like she doesn't like children but once she showed us her body language traits and what they meant it was obvious how stressed she is around Ruby.

It's sooooooooo sad as she is such a beautiful little girl who just wants lots of love and attention. Michelle is also brilliant in the house and so well behaved. Take small children out of the equation and the behaviourist said she has such good manners and is a real sweetie and would be a dream pet.

If any potential owners are reading this PLEASE give Michelle a chance as you will fall in love with her very quickly.

If anyone has any questions regarding Michelle do not hesitate to contact me as I can't reiterate what a lovely dog she is. She does need socialising with other dogs but given time she'll be fine”.

Michelle is currently back in boarding kennels and available for foster until her forever home comes along. She loved the comforts of a home life and does not do well in kennels so anyone who is able to help please get in touch.

One of our volunteer walkers took Michelle out. Think she was just a little bit smitten - heres her update:

"The gorgeous, polite little lady came out with me again today. She was an angel, just so easy on the lead and looking back with those lovely eyes to check everything is OK. She is always so happy to be out and enjoys her walk with an ever wagging tail. We stopped for some photos and cuddles in the field and she ever so gently nibbled my ear".

Michelle is currently in boarding kennels and would love a foster home until her forever home comes along. Could you foster her even for a little while so she has a break from kennels? If so please get in touch.

Michelle has gone into a foster home which she waits for someone to offer her a forever home and adopt her.

Here is an update from her fosterer:

"Hard to believe Michelle has been with us for over a week now and I’m pleased to report she has settled in very well. Understandably, she was disorientated for the first couple of nights and reluctant to stay in her bed (in the kitchen), preferring to stand outside our bedroom door desperate to join us - in the bed if she could! We moved her bed to the landing and she now sleeps happily through the night. She’s a good eater and we’re giving her two, smaller meals, morning and evening to increase her weight slightly. A good sign is the fur is starting to grow back on her throat & belly.

We’ve walked her a lot (took her to Southsea beach one day) and she’s very well behaved on the lead, no doubt due to the communal walks in kennels but some things do spook her, other dogs obviously and motorbikes. Hopefully, we can help her overcome this with time. We’d like to walk her with other dogs, so would be pleased to hear from any of the Farnham kennel walkers.

She is a very pretty girl and loves attention, particularly from women and, when invited, will happily sleep all evening on Carla’s lap. She is lovely and we’re absolutely delighted to have her. The family will all be arriving for Christmas over the next few days, so Michelle will be spoiled rotten and worn out from walking. Thanks for your interest and we’ll keep you updated".

If you are interested in re-homing Michelle please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
