I vaguely recall there being a term for it in rats but can't remember what.
This website has a list of genetics/colour terms, not sure if it's listed there

Look up info about the Agouti gene - this is the one that gives fur the banded appearance (was trying to rack my brains about rats but wasn't quite getting it because Agouti is the name of one of the varieties in rats and my brain was getting confused!)

It's usually known as ticking, but it varies from breed to breed and species to species.
