Help - Carpet Chewing

Morning all

Im in need of some desperate advice regarding Honey Scratching the carpet, she a whippet x approx 18months (not sure as she rescue dog but still a pup) We have had her since May.

We live in a rented house with a lovely beige carpet in the hallway, we have put a hard wearing cut off carpet that fits well over that carpet so we dont dirty it as it belongs to the owner.

Honey keeps scratching the edges and pulling threads out while we are out, we have put duck tape around all the edges but she still manages to chew that off.

Does anybody have any advice what will stop her doing this.

Ooooops memories come flooding back
Is she used to a cage? Can she be shut away from that carpet? Maybe a kitchen that only has hard floors.
Good luck!

Hi thanks for your reply, Honey was in her cage up till about 6 weeks ago and we decided to give her a chance and leave her out as we have another dog as well, she doesnt chew anything else in the house like she did at first thats why we got the crate.

I didnt really want to put her back in as it would be a punishement and its supposed to be a nice place to be.

I have heard you can spray things on but not sure what.
