Does anyone feed Orijen? Is it really worth its expensive price tag?

I keep a bag in car in case I cannot feed raw for any reason, I also use it for tracking. Is it worth it? Who knows, I am prepared to pay for it.

I tried it with Rocky, but it didn't agree with him (runny poos). It contains yeast - and I would avoid anything with yeast added because it can lead to yeast infections and generally isn't good for the digestive system.

After a few weeks of it Rocky got swelling on his ankles - don't know if that is related, but when I put him back on cooked food the swelling has all but gone (tbh, he was also put on steroids which might have helped).

I used to feed Orijen, but Oliver wasn't doing well on it. So I switched them all to Acana (same company), which isn't quite so high in protein, and they were all good on that. But now that I feed several different types of dry and canned foods, Oliver's sensitive tummy is cured, and he can eat anything, except raw meat.

I fed Orijen once when I took the dogs away for several days. Their poos were just as big as they are on cheaper kibble and it gave Flynn wind. I wasnt impressed so havent bought it since.

It didnt agree with Harvey either - skin issues

However when i opened the bag this mouth watering aroma was quite yummy and the cats were very keen. So much so I sent away for a small bag of the cat kibble. The kitten who has never eaten cat kibble has started to eat it so I can thank Orijen for that. I wont repeat it for the cats. The kibble they get is just as good and nutritious.

Thanks everyone for your experiences. I don't think I will be changing from Arden Grange just yet, but I did like the sound of Orijen (and Acana too).
