What do you do with the eggs?

"What do you do with the eggs your chickens lay?"
"Eat them"
"But they're all dirty"

Cos I keep chickens for the fun of it, and just throw the 4 eggs a day away.....

"How do the chickens lay eggs if you've not got a cockerel?"
"The cockerel only fertilises the eggs, the chickens lay them anyway"
"Really??!?"

I didn't dare expand on the fact that eggs and poo come from the same orifice....

Just point out that eggs come in a handy dirt proof casing and they are clean on the inside!

My dogs get any eggs that are not eaten after 5 days.

All I do is drop them into a bowl so they smash and the dogs eat the egg and shell.

Don't forget eggs are an excellent source of nutrition and are rich in Vitamins A, D, E and B. They also have good mineral content containing Zinc, Calcium and Iron and are low in saturated fats.

When I had pet ducks, [ rescued from heading for dinner plates ], they laid but I gave the eggs to my parents to use themselves or give to others who would use them. Could`nt eat their eggs myself, I`d have felt like a cannibal with them being from my girls

Like Colin has said, a wonderful source of nutrition which Max & Murphy would appreciate, (You could show these people the DLBoxers blog for how to make use of perfectly good food

P.S.
It's always good to read threads twice!! I see that you are quoting what others have said to you Sorry

PPS
Just modified above appropriately
