Cattle grid-Lucky escape

Walking yesterday.
came up to a cattle grid so made Kobi sit and went to open the side gate.
to my horror when I called him to me he took a flying leap over the grid instead of coming through the gate.
Just made it, clipped the front row and went A over T but unhurt.
Put him on the lead for the next one.

Simon went down one once. I hadn't even realised it was there, it was so overgrown, and obviously neither has he. We were on holiday, and I had visions of trying to find a vet, as I was sure he must have broken a leg (not to mention how the heck I was going to get him back to our holiday home!)

Luckily he was ok though.

Phew! I have had a couple of heart in mouth moments over cattle grids before but no injuries thank goodness! Glad Kobi suffered no ill effects, but think a lead would definitely be a good idea next time

my springer jumps them with a lot to spare so i would have thought a cocker would clear easily or are they of varying lengths.
