Stinky Dog

After his swimming in the river, Loki stank :smt104 so we gave him a bath but he still smells awful. Any suggestions, preferably without bathing him again?
Thanks hopefully.

You could try dusting sodium bicarb. into the coat and then brush it out after 10 minutes or so...

You can always cheat...

I have a bottle of doggie aftershave which is great for making Vegas smell nice.I bought it from Pets at Home and got him the fragrence 'Very Cherry' which is wonderful and masks dirty river smells!

I make a spray of Lavender and Tea Tree Oil with water and spray that on, and then brush them. However, have just read the post about Tea Tree Oil being banned, will anything be left to us?

You could try dry shampoo,,, its lovely brushed into the coat smells a bit like baby talc,, or you could just use a mild talc .
we dont bath ours very much but need them clean for shows so works a treat on ours smell and clean in one go.

'Very cherry' isn't very masculine though, is it? Loki might object to smelling floral. I tried to check his rear end for cling-ons today and he was furious with me for going anywhere near there.

I like the smell of very cherry and it masks the stench of pond water easy!

It is good though cause its a coat conditioner and all you do is spray then rub with a cloth. It makes Vegas's coat semi shine (his isnt what you would call glossy anyway) and soft.

Sounds good to me, anything is better than that stinky smell in his long coat. Poo!
