Bandit , update ,with Neurologist

Hi, just a quickie because I am exhausted , it has been a long day, for both of us.

On a scale of 1 to 10 , I think we are on a 5..

Yes there is a tumor there and it is rather large.. the good news is that it has not progresed to his brain, or any of the bone around the nasal structure of his face , it has spread to the muscle below his eye, but only very slightly... and has not reached the nervous system which is below .

The neurologist , suggests immediate removal of the eye, so that is a phone call tomorrow, to the eye specialist , to organise.

The neurologist says the eye is causing him considerable pain and irttitaion, and IF the tumor spreads to the nervous system below the eye, then the best thing , with be to call it a day..as they wil not be able to control the pain.
But she is hopeful that the tumor |(as it stands now) is neat.. and with the removal of the eye.. will be able to remove most if not all.
So that is the next step, to go back and have the eye and tumor removed... which will then be able to do a biopsy.. and then there in lies the crux.... the results of the biopsy... if and how aggressive it is.

Whether or not radiotheraphy is viable an option
So in one respect it is not as bad as it could have been , but in another we are still in limbo.
The old man has coped well, he is feeling very sorry for himself at the mo... still recovering from the anaesthetic..so a little groggy..but a good nights sleep for both of us , will set us up for another days fight.

We are going to do and give him every chance we can.... I wont put him through unnecessary treatment..but as it stands (till the biopsy) we have a chance for life, and we are grasping it with both hands...and paws!!
Thats all for now... going to grab some sleep.

Hi Jackie Glad the news is at least giving Bandid a chance and my prayers are with you that after the tunour and the eye is removed brings good news.

Give him a gentle pat for voming through what he did today and big cuddles to you as you must be shattetred and at least a little relieved.

I have been thinking of you both all day,

I know your worst fears, as we chatted about them yesterday, But I would imagine you felt far better today knowing that tumour has not spread into area's of the brain or the nervous system, Huge hugs to you both
get a good nights sleep hun, I bet you didnt last night,
hugs to you and bandit xxx

Hi Jackie I wondered how you got on today.
I guess the mass is putting a lot of pressure on the surrounding tissue and once the eye is removed Bandit will feel a lot more comfortable.

Hoping all all goes well with the next stages xx
