Am i right in saying that if a tick is on a dog you can remove it easily by using vasaline to "suffocate "it i seem to remember hearing something like that on animal hospital a while ago ,but if this poor dog actully died as a result of a browm tick biteing it ,do you know if the vet found the tick still attached to the dog jenny .

A little while ago I was caring for a poorly hedgehog, she had a tick and one way to remove them is to put a drop or two of cooking oil on the tick, it will eventually lose it's grip and fall off. I never got to find out if it worked as Teasel the hedgehog died the day after I treated the tick.
