Here is the reply I just recieved from Burns to my email enquiry.

Thank you for your enquiry.

John Burns is aware of your concerns and is currently investigating the use and benefits of Vitamin K3. As soon as I have further information on this subject I will contact you again.

So they seem to be taking it seriously then...good. Hope it's not too long before they post a message on their forum telling everyone what's happening. Thanks

I've just recieved a reply to my enquiry from Ceri Rundle at CSJ feeds, I enquired as to whether their feed contained Vit K3,

'As you probably already know, Vit K3 is the only viable form of vit K that can be added to petfood, and it has had some bad press recently after a doctor in Germany linked it to health problems in infant milk formulae. A German vet then extrapolated it to petfood, even though the levels used in the majority of petfoods are hundreds of times smaller than that in the infant case, and recently the good old web chat forums have built it up into a major conspiracy(bless them!).
To cut a long story short, since January 06 there has been no Menadione in CSJ foods.'

Albion Lass, i just dont understand it, if it's some 'conspiracy' then why did they remove it fromt their food?

Same with Burns, why didn't they declare it on their ingrediants list?

This has really annoyed me!

Why can't they just accept that they are going by newly released information and removing it, instead of poo pooing it all and then removing it

Sweetmimi, dont worry about that thread there are lots of internet cache things that archive information on the web, im sure they'll have a copy of it!

Thanks Kelly
I just wish that they had not deleted the thread or maybe J Burns himself realised that the threat of libel was not necessary and felt embarassed about it LOL

Anybody asked why the government are prohibiting it? has that got anything to do with it being discontinued?
