Can a dog get pregnant before the season starts??

Hi I was just windering if anyone can offer any advice.

On Thursday I was walking Ayla when a small dog came runnning up to Ayla and started jumping all over her, (he was off lead and Ayla was on lead) I was trying to carry on walking with Ayla but she just froze and started growling (very unusal) then this small dog jumped up and mounted Ayla, it was only for a few seconds as I managed to get him off her. The owner walked up and just said 'get down boy!' but with no apology.

Yesterday Ayla started bleeding, would it be possible for her to get pregnant from this encounter? Someone told me that is was possible, even if the dog was there for a few seconds.

No, if a bitch isn`t in season she can`t get pregnant. I expect the little dog could smell that she was coming into season though. If you`re worried ask your vet to check.
You need to keep your bitch away from entire male dogs for 3-4 weeks now.

Very unlikely as they hadn't tied & she wasn't at the height of her season..
However don't wait to see blood to confirm a season, many girls show no signs at all (silent seasons)
Male Dogs are the best judge of fertility !!

Did the male actually enter her? .. I would have thought it very un likely that she will go on to be pregnant though.
