Yesterday spiders today......

This!! I moved my canarys cage to the living room window ledge this morning, next minute I heard banging on my window (thankfully they were shut) and this bird was constantly flying/slamming himself into my window trying to have my canary for breakfast

Of course my lovely gun dogs just sat there watching

Sorry the pictures aren't that clear but I took them through the windows - which aren't very clean with all the bad weather we've been having recently. Thankfully he's gone now, just glad my windows were shut!!

That looks like one gorgeous 'Sparrow Hawk' . . . . .

I could be wrong but I'm sure there are some twitchers amoungst the doggie fraternity who will correct me . . . .

Gorgeous bird! Is it a kestrel? Looks a bit small to be a sprrow hawk.

Glad your birdies are ok though

Just had a quick google and I think it's a sparrow hawk, Kestrels seem to have more of a spotty front, maybe this was a young bird they're not normally this 'friendly'....lol. He could obviously see me, but guess he was more interested in my little canary.

Think it is a dreaded sparrow hawk.
My parents unfortunatly have one visiting daily and their hundreds of different birds they fed and some of whom got so tame they would come indoors begging for sultanas have all been killed by the sparrowhawk over the past few months. They rarely see a bird now

We've got a friendly robin, as soon as we open our front door in he comes, my OH didn't believe me so we sat in the living room, front door open and sure enough in came our little bird, just hope this sparrow hawk hasn't had him
