Just to let you know (Fern health update)

Our lovely Fern was diagnosed with HD last week, we always suspected that he had it, but he was old enough to be xrayed and it was confirmed.

He's been on good food so it has slowed it abit, and also joint supplements which is good, and he'll soon be enrolled in hydrotherapy classes to help him along.

Just thought I'd let you guys know, who like to know how Fern is doing

I am very sorry to hear about Fern and the HD, I do hope he remains steady, even if he can't improve. It does sound as if he is doing okay ATM..
Hugs too him, and hugs to you and your Oh too

Oh Luke, I'm sorry you have lost Polly, I know she meant alot to you as they all do but you seemed to have a lovely bond with her. She lived a good life with you Luke for sure.

Fern is resilient and I suspect as long as we keep him fed with good food, exercised gently and supplemented up he should be okay for now, when the arthritis comes it'll be a different story but here's hoping that won't be for a while yet.

Big hugs to you Luke.

Thanks guys for your words of support for Fern.

Hi Mys, his left leg is worse than his right - he has always limped on it right from the beginning so it came as no surprise when the vet gave us the news.

His mum had a low hip score, and apparently the father did too although we had no proof of this, still this was never going to be any type of guarantee that Fern's would be low.

He's a happy boy though and has such a lovely nature - super excited all the time and when he rests, he likes to lie on our feet or shove his head under our arms Wouldn't change him for the world really

Thanks for asking, hope you are well too.
