Evening everyone. Sorry Zen seems jumpy round her rear end again June.
Hope rosie is better Mandy and Lauryn.
Hope your feeling better too Moyra.

Journey fine but just before Harlow engine management light came on and message on computer same again engine fault needs repairing.
It drove the rest of the way no problems, message only flashed once. We turned off the engine while waiting for Mark it came on again when engine started then went off. Engine management light on permanently while engine on. It drove perfectly fine all the way back I drove it home.
Gorden has to leave early tomorrow but will ring the guy when he is at work.
Gorden now wonders if it is an over sensitive engine management light his peugeot 106 was on more or less all the time. Never a days problem with it. I said do you think this is ok to drive then he said if it was me yes I would but as it's you on your own in the near future doing journeys up the motorways then I wouldn't be happy.
Not sure where we go from here with it. At the moment it is useless to me worried to drive it long distances on my own or it's in the garage.

That will be something that we may broach but at the moment the guy has no estate cars.
Cannot fault him so far he has taken it back replaced sensors and the computer at no charge.

Lynn, is the guy a general garage? it may need to go on the dealer specialist computer equipment...there are things you can buy that will rad and clear fault codes but there are some codes they are unable to clear....i had this with my dads Z4, his srs light was on, got a code reader...tried to read it..no code came up, there was deffo a fault but it couldn't read it and clear it correctly, took it to the independent bmw lad we use and he hooke dit up to the computer whilst my dad was there and said all it was down to was a low battery at some point.....he cleared everything and it has been fine since

I've got a message saying my 4 wheel drive needs servicing and its something to do with the switch apparently as I asked my local garage who are so good, and they said don't worry, so I haven't
I wondered myself if that was a reason it was sold on as regards yours Lynn.
Just been making space for the coal delivery tomorrow, some will go in the coal bunker but a lot will be stacked up.Girls have a little less room now but by January I'll have tipped the rest of it

Oh Lynn I'm so sorry you're still having this irksome light come on. You can tell Griff has worked on these things 'cos it often is something like she said. I think these computer management systems are too complicated and I have a sneaking feeling that they never do test every possible scenario. It annoys me intensely that big companies like Apple and Microsoft release software that they know has faults and they just rely on the users to find them.

If you ask Griff she may be able to tell you how to get behind the dash board and remove the light bulb, you wouldn't have any worries then

How much do you use I well remember in Cetenov we had 7 tons delivered every September which lasted through the winter to about April when we didn't need to heat (until following Autumn.) All the locals tried to use wood of which there was plenty but they never dried it properly so was forever clogging up the chimney and sometimes causing chimney fires

Lol...trouble is Harvey, if you fetch out the bulb it will most likely throw up another warning to tell you all about that lol. It really is very clever what can be done but I had a serious issue with the whole computerization of cars as it costs the customer so much and half the time once you have inputted the cars info you can leave it run the tests itself so you can get on with another car...back when I was working the defender was the car with cheapest labour costs per hour and back in 1999 it was £55!!

So now I use a two stage process (1) bash them with the fly swatter thingy (2) See where they landon the floor and jump on them

Well another week passes

Moyra so sorry that curry upset you. We don't have curries any more, OH doesn't like them and I can live without them.

Nights are cooling down now, who has put their heating on we're trying to delay it for another week

Just got the call for dinner so I'm away, if I don't fall asleep in front of the telly I'll be back, if I do then see you all tomorrow.
