lovely photo - matt finish is always much better I think. My hubby always uses matt finish non-reflective) glass when doing his picture framing.

Kazz

This was taken with a 36.3 megapixel camera in RAW format which then increases the pixel count to 44.2 MP. In other words a camera that takes in more details than most others. So when the picture on the wall of mine is 27x40 inches all the detail is still there.

Think of it this way, the more you stretch an elastic band the thinner it gets. Same with a photograph with a lowish pixel count, turn it into a canvas that is too big and the details get stretched to much and ruins the photo.

So if you do decide to have your pictures framed don't use one of the high street chains seek out a specialist company who can advise on the best canvas size for your picture and go talk to them, that is what we did. Ok may not be the cheapest by far but at least you know what to expect.
We first went to Max Speilman and they are an instore franchise setup and only do "family snap " type in Jpeg with no proper idea of putting onto canvas size. Useless for what we wanted a professional canvas unique to us.

Thanks for that information I will look at the pictures I have and see how it goes. I always buy something for the area I am in if I see a local artist. Or something local that reminds me of a special time.
