that creates quite an image and poor wee tip lol

Ive taken 3 dogs out at once - 2 collies and a springerx...
all onlead... if they all dragged me at the same time i honestly think i could have stopped thm

I now only walk two confidently by the road/fields etc

I know it all depends on size of the person/strength etc...and i really dont care what anyone says - even the most well behaved dog might get it in its head and run/pull accross the road.....

I only ask this question as i saw a woman who was skinnier and smaller than me walking a whippet, 2 DDb's and a mastiff lol! (on her own by a main road)...

thoughts/experience???
im confuzzed, does that mean unless you are agreed with you dont want a reply?

i can see both sides of this... i can see where people are coming from that they are entitled to their opinion and thats what you asked for.

but i think sometimes tone says a lot so i know where you are coming from as well. thats what i think is hard with typing stuff, the tone can be read completely wrong to what is being meant... i have learnt that a lot on dogsey.

i dont know if ive made sense, but i tried

Personally, I dont think the size of a person walking dogs is important.

Its how capable you are , someone mentioned horse... I am 5ft, and have walked many a horse or two at a time on head collars....same with my dogs, I can walk two Boxers without any problem down the road on leads, and not have a fear of being pulled over.

But off lead is another matter, and my personal feelings are, as I said earlier, you cant have control over more dogs than you have hands.

If something kicks off, no matter how well behaved your dogs are , (others you meet may not be so well behaved) and if any conflict starts,, and you need to take hold of your dogs, you only have two hands, so for me, you should only have two dogs....... OFF LEAD!!!!!!!!

I have a friend who had 5 dogs, walks then all together off lead, all got good recall, but like the other day, a dog comes up to them and starts on one of hers... two of her others go in, she only has two hands to get two of her dog, the other carries on fighting with the aggressor dog... she is helpless to do anything till the owner of the other dog comes along.

So thats why , I have my rule, if the dogs are off lead in popular areas, then more than two is to many!!

why isit krusewalker - more often that not you pop up for a good argument and try to aggrivate me lol....

ive said enough on this thread appart from GSD mad and whoever else it was - of course i wanted replies - whether i agree or not

i think on a forum its diffcult to grasp 'the tone' of someones post... hence why sometimes it gets put accross wrong...
