Has your dog never barked at a person..?

I can not think of any occasion when Ozzie has knowingly barked a person ..

And never ever shown any aggression towards anyone...

Do you think it was the early socialisation and he knows he has nothing to fear ??

The only time Tess, Maisie or Tara have barked at people has been an alert bark at the gate to tell us there are people visiting our house.

Tara barks in the van if people come up to the door and look in.

Lady barked at a guy on his mobile phone after dark in a back lane. The guy was arguing on the phone and sounded angry. She was a rehome. She also guards the van.

Polo has done the odd bit of manic barking when a group of teenagers approach and was on lead, but he is a stresshead anyway.

My lot have all had a pop, in varying degrees. Except Razzle. But he does bark at me when I come in...

Only once, this happened when I was in Pets at Home Carmarthen, this huge blousey woman went up to Buffy and said 'Ohoooo I love chocolate labradors' and just hovered right over her. Buffy, who had ever taken umburence to anyone, barked just once at her and turned away. The woman said ' well you have a nasty dog because all dogs love me' To which I replied 'my dog is very fussy who she allows to invade her space and she obviously feels you are not genuine' I then walked off and left her telling everyone my dog was very 'suspicious' (whatever that meant). All I could do was laugh.

Kyiro and Lily have never barked at anyone or anything or shown any aggresion.
Being greyhounds it won't be down to good early socialisation, especially with the beatings and bad times Kyiro went through. It is just down to the placid nature of greyhounds.

What not even when someone comes to the door?
My lot all bark at the door and only shut up when told or they see who's come in. Even the Pug gives it large lol.
No I don't think it's down to early socialisation to be honest, my lot were all very well socialised and very confident, they've never barked at anyone when out but the door and the garden are another matter. The builders next door jumped back rather rapidly when they put their head over the fence and 3 Dobermanns launched themselves at the fence in unison.
As for aggression on walks they've never gone for anyone but when feeling threatened they have surrounded me and stood their ground with Syd adjusting his position to keep himself between me and the knob head giving us a load of verbal and the 2 girls were making so much noise and moving slowly but menacingly towards the guy he thought better of it and had it on his toes.

Jessie has never barked at a person in the time that she has been with me, she just isnt a dog that barks at anything (apart from a little excited bark when she's chasing a squirrel or when I go "Whats that???!!") I wouldnt say she is well socialised though so I dont think it has anything to do with that.

My golden retriever, Bonnie, has never barked at anyone. She rarely barks anyway - just stares if she is not sure. I thought when I first got her she might be a bit shy and she was quite submissive. Because of this I did my best to help her gain confidence and she was quite well socialised (which is an ongoing process anyway). In a way she sort of socialised herself. Because she was such a pretty, friendly pup, people went out of their way to meet her and fuss her and she quickly learned to take advantage of a situation. At one point it became a bit of a problem for me because people would call to her from a distance and off she would go to them. I think a lot of young retrievers are the same and I used to hope that just once someone would ignore her or shoo her off and she might get the message that not everyone thinks she is lovely -She's modified it a bit now she is a year old, but I'm still waiting for someone to reject her.

Rogan woofs at people coming to the door/up the drive, but he's only ever had a proper 'go' at a friend of my fiance's sister. He usually gets along with everyone, but he took a real funny to her. He's a 1 1/2 y/o rescue, and something about her just triggered a negative response.
