Erica ~ Super Friendly Cat Trainable Girl - 2yo Black Greyhound

ERICA

Meet the beautiful Erica. She is a 2 year old greyhound girl who wanted nothing to do with the racing life – she just wants to be loved! Erica is a very pretty, delicately shaped girl with a smattering of white flecks throughout her coat. She has a beautiful little face with a pencil thin white stripe running up her nose. Erica’s coat is in a transition phase at the moment, but once her shiny new spring coat comes through she will be an absolute stunner.

Erica’s personality matches her beautiful coat, she is a gorgeous, friendly girl who loves interacting with people. She’s a happy, bouncy young dog, full of fun and games. This girl will do fabulously in a family home and we can’t wait to see her taking in all the comforts of a home environment. She is attentive to her people and should be a lovely girl to train and work with.

Erica is very good with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. She hasn’t put a paw wrong in our kennels, and loves being out of her kennel and socialising with other people and dogs. Erica has also passed her preliminary cat test with flying colours, and we feel she will be ok to share her home with cats. This will be tested more thoroughly before she goes to a home with cats, but potential adopters are urged to apply for her sooner rather than later.

This sweetie pie has sadly not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit patient during the first couple of weeks and allow her time to settle in and learn the home rules. It generally takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience. Showing this girl the big wide world outside of kennels is going to be such a joy.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

Erica is currently being kennelled in Co. Kerry, Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick her up, and if you live in the UK and wish to meet before adopting her, she will be fostered in the Norfolk area.

Erica is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting or short-term fostering Erica, please email me for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
