dont agree with any hunting for just killing, if you are going to eat the animal afterwards, then its ok, but as long as its done without it being cruel and the animal or animals dont suffer!!

In certain aspects of my life, I count myself very fortunate, I had an Aunt and Uncle who had a small holding as I grew up, "I have always lived in a council estate" I then worked on a farm 10 to almost 15, I saw the way these people teated wildlife, an the indepth knowledge of wildlife that they possessed, I know if I had never been lucky enough to see many of the things that I did, I would not have the understanding of rural matters that I have, most do not kill for killings sake they kill for necessity, and never take the matter lightly. They have a bond with the land that many of us town or city dwellers have lost.

I dont agree with kiling for sport, but something that seems to being left out here, is the killing of certain animals that are verminous, and would ovverpopulate us if they werent controlled, by this i am meaning rodents, rats, mice, shrews, mole, voles etc.
My terriers are and allways have been trained to see to these little things. My aunt runs stables and they have been known to spread disease to new born foals, and have been known to devestate the feed shed supplys.
I must say though, this is the soft side in em, i dont like them rabbiting, i have allways kept rabbits as pets, so my dogs have been discouraged from rabbiting, but i think sometimes using dogs in killing other animals is necesary, not for sport, or to meet up with people, but to lets say 'regulate' the balance.
these are just my views though.
best wishes
