Pig Rails...Advice Please.

My young Schnauzer bitch is due to whelp around 12th/13th Sept. Last time her mother had 12 puppies! She looked after them all very well apart from 1 little bitch which got underneath her at 3 days old. I was heartbroken. This time round I have bought pig rails. Should I wait until after the puppies are born before I put them into the box?

With my shepherd I had the rails built into the whelping box so they were a permanent feature. Have never used ones you put in sorry but feel it would be better to have them in now so the bitch isn't upset by them.

mine were buildt into the box so my bitch got used to them being in, rather than upsetting her right at the time she is giving birth I would get them in ready.
