Connolly's red mills dog food?

on the quest for dog food my dog will eat.. nana has brought back a huge bag of dry food called red mills dog food, of her friend, a breeder of papillons. apparently its for gryehounds. her dogs love this food, all have seen an improvement in coat length, gleam etc...

ive tried mine on it.. and daphni who isnt one for kibble normally, loves it. she gets excited when her bowl comes, eats it on its own (she has never done this with any other kibble before!) even turned down her duck wing for the kibble tonight..

looking at the ingredients (nana claims its fine, however im a freak about ingredients and read everything!) im no so convinced its a great food.

the food we have here is actually red mills plus.. which the bag states "is a high performance feed designed to meet the needs of pups, saplings, stud dogs, brood bitches, and racing dogs in training."

im hoping if i post the ingredients then someone (like smokeybear ) can tell me more about it.

ingredients are as follows:

cr.protein 27.0 %
cr.oil 15.0 %
cr.fibre 2.2 %
cr.ash 9.0 %
moisture 10 %
vitamin A 15,000 iu/kg
vitamin D3 2,000 iu/kg
vitamin E 200 iu/kg
copper 15mg/kg
selenium 0.1 mg/kg

it then says in the ingredients:

"(in descending order of inclusion) cereals meat and animal derivatives, fish and fish derivatives, oils and fats, derivatives of vegetable origins, minerals, chicory extract, yeast extract"

so what do you think? any of you heard of it before?

An opinion ...
Inadequate meat content, byproducts, all ingredients of unidentifiable origin, low quality throughout

Junk food tastes good but doesn't necessarily provide balanced nutrition.

Try KILPER kennel. My Lottie is on that and she is thriving. Google it. More than one o'll bring you some to try if you like. It's about £15 for a 15kg sack. I get it at Creature Comforts in Macc. By the Early learning centre
