any good herbalists or holland and barrat you may be able to find a plant in the herb e=section of your local garden center ,, i grow my own and make a tea of it when the leaves have dried 1 tsp eyebright ( dried and crushed ) to 5 fluid oz of water for every day wiping ( dont forget to strain out the eyebright after boiling). a quick once over and my dogs have never had eye problems .. touch wood ,, ( not to be taken internaly ) you may be able to buy a ready made eyebright solution from holland and barrat aswell

that's great advice - thank you Diane

Update on Archie: we went to the vets, and he has got conjunctivitis. They put some orange dye in his eye to check for scratches but there wasn't any. They gave me some antibiotic eye cream to put in his eye.

Hopefully all will be better in a few days

Thanks Carole and Jen I'm actually really glad I took him in today as otherwise would have spent all weekend worrying about it instead of packing for my trip!
