moving abroad

was looking at the pet passports. and it lead me to the question

if me and my OH were to move to austria (really want to)

if they had a pet passport would my dogs still need to go into quarentine?

i couldnt be away from them for 6months (or however long)

theyed forget me

what is the protocall ?

also for my rats, could i take them with me?

Your dog only needs a full PP(ie a titre test at listed lab etc) to come back into the UK, to leave the UK a blank PP with just the dogs details in would do(friend sent an unvax puppy abroad with one-he's not coming back to the UK)

If you are thinking of moving to Austria & then coming back to the UK to visit they will need full PP's & you may want to get them done before you leave so that as long as you keep up the rabies vax & the tick/flea treatment you won't need to do anything else

If you are going to be permanently resident in Austria you woul dhave to conform to their rules re dogs etc

ah thanks for that. so there isnt a need for them to go into quarentine as long as they are vaccinated ect to austria standards

There's no Quarantine going out Only on return to the UK if they don't have a PP Best to gett a PP sorted before you go out then the return is a lot easier As long as you keep up the rabies shots done on time
