I currently only have one dog, but am seeking another hopefully in the next year. Though Moko sometimes is like having two dogs in one!

I have two now,and tbh thats enough.
They are both high energry and love attention.
We can manage that..just
I have had four, didnt plan that many, all where rescues that really needed a home urgently, plus they were no where as full on as my two now.

I have 3 dogs at the moment and occasionally 4 as my mother's Springer regularly stays with us. They are good boys when we go out, there is absolutely no pack behaviour as they are all far too busy doing their own various gundog things. I love having a houseful and can't imagine it any other way now.

I have 3, soon to be 4 dogs, + my sister's Westie on occasion. I LOVE having so many dogs... and they are sooo different. I rescue dogs that need it most... so I have quite a variety.... and that makes people stop and take a look!

Two is all we're allowed... I thinks that's good, because the dogs have a playmate, and no major fights..

One. While I could certainly afford and handle another, I like the benefits of having one dog.

when i get my own place id like to have several dogs providing the time etc is there and money etc....

i suppose though one on one - some dogs prefer that... with millie - she wouldnt be bothered either way....

Having just got dog number 3 I voted 3+!

To be honest I do think that this is an issue where size does matter...

My 2 Affens just about add up to my Mini Schnauzer So when I take them out I won't have the same handling issues as someone walking 3 big dogs. Feeding them isn't that expensive and I don't need a van to fit them all in.

But whatever their size dogs are time consuming, as are small children, so to get back to the OP if I was planning to start a family I would only have as many as could be easily handled alongside a buggy. I would say 1 big, possibly 2 small dogs in that scenario.

We have 4 at the moment but I have just retired from work and now have much more time to train and walk the dogs.

Watch this space as I wouldnt rule out having another dog in the future!
