Dog hair on carpets!

What can I do to remove the dog hair on my sunroom carpet? The rest of the house is OK, but this particular carpet is old, like Axminster, flat piled & hair sticks to it like a magnet... I have a Vax hoover, which doesn`t touch it.. tried sticky tape but that wasn`t very effective ... any tips or ideas, Lucy

Have you tried one of the rubber dog brushes? I used to use one on my old hall carpet hair seemed to stick to it and no amount of vacuuming lifted it.

I have a Dyson (not animal though, that wasnt out when I bought mine!) which is brilliant on most of my carpets, but my old bedroom one (naff) needs a rubber soled shoe over it.I just drag my feet on the carpet and the hair rolls up, even collects when I have just Dysoned! It tends to collect and roll any hair up into a ball.

Buy a deckbrush (like a scrubbing brush with a long handle from hardware shops) wet it then shake off the water so it is just damp...now rub backwards and forwards on the carpet in scrubbing rather than sweeping movement and all the hairs will come off on the brush ,remove them and repeat.

I'm gonna try some of those ideas, I'm still finding Jas' hair all over the place and he's been gone just over a month
