Yes I tried to adopted a neutered cat, but was refused because my male dogs are entire & MT require that ALL animals in a home are neutered.

We adopted Betty 3 years ago from Many Tears. I saw her profile online and applied online on the Saturday evening. They phoned me early on the Sunday morning to discuss it all, I had the home check on the Monday morning and we visited Betty the same evening in her foster home........after meeting us all and our 2 terriers she came home with us straight away.
Our 2 terriers had already been neutered.

Believe a lot of shelters and rescues, tend to have issues if you have intact dogs.

Going, but I own and have always had 1 or 2 mastiffs or Saints, does not mean anything to them.

There a rescue/shelter and basicly only look at the amount of unwanted dogs they see a day.

They don't see that spay or neutering a large/giant breed prior to 18 months to 2 years, is putting the health of your dog you love at a higher risk.

I have a major issue with vets and the SPCA on many counts, but I do fully understand where there coming from, by the numbers they are looking at.

Does this mean most shelters and rescues will not allow me to adopt a dog from them? Yes.

Though I will always have a gentle giant in my life.

So please don't judge them harshly.

No, but a rescue I would consider! My boy is entire, but he'll be done in September
