Newly adopted Rita Wayward, malamute

My beautiful girl, she jumped the fence and ran away when she arrived from the shelter. She came back 20 minutes later, having rolled in something dead. She fought with the other dogs for a while, and she jumped through a closed window. Two weeks passed and now she is calm, happy and very much loved. She is also the unchallenged alpha.

Lovely looking dog and great name, Rita Wayward - sounds like it really suited her, although hopefully her wayward days are now over

I was going to ask the same question because of the eyes...thought malamutes only had almond eyes???

Almond shaped maybe but Malamutes have a range of eye colour from light amber (mostly in reds) to a deep dark brown..

Blue is a no no in Malamutes as it usually shows it has been crossed with a sibe at some point....

Although the UK breed standard states:
Eyes
Brown, almond-shaped, moderately large, set obliquely. Dark eyes preferred, except in red and white dogs where light eyes are permissible. Blue eyes highly undesirable.
The AKC state that blue eyes is a disqualification
