We went up to Perthshire, and stayed not very far away from Taymouth, but in some other cottages http://www.craggantoul.com

We liked it so much that we've booked again this year! All their cottages are dog-friendly (we have 2 huge Boxers), they have a 100 acre livestock-free estate, with Loch Tay access and I love it there!

I have found North Lakes and Scotland to be the most dog friendly holiday destinations. Never been Devon and Cornwall so couldn't comment. Although Walkes is good for walking esp on the coast, there seems to be less dog freindly pubs etc. down there, so it depends whether you want to eat out with Moon. My favourite place is Keswick and surrounding area. You can take the pooch on loads of shops and pubs etc. and it's genuinely all dog friendly as apposed to little dog friendly. We usual camp though so can't recommend cottages.

Between £300-£500 for a week self catering (fuel, electric etc all in). The cottages sleep between 2 and 6, so can be shared out if needs be. Obviously the higher prices are around school hols, bank hols etc.

Takes around 5 hours from here to drive there, but not a bad drive.

This was the view from our front door of Little Em's Cottage last September
