Diabetes tests

Does anyone know if any pharmacies are doing free diabetes tests?

If in any doubt go and see your GP and get some bloods done, mine (type 2) was picked up on a routine blood test then I had to do a fasted blood sample. I wuld imagine that the only test a pharmacist could do was a urine sample, detecting sugar and if any doubt would send you for a b.s.
ANYhoooooooo mineis easily controlled with two tablets a day, and the need to lose a stone or two

Your GP will do a "prick" test for you, or a urine test (take one along).

Don't fret if you have it - type 2 can be controlled

Go to your GP it's free & the HbA1c test will cover the past 2/3 months. Better than any chemist's test.

Thanks everyone!
I suppose I'll have to make an appointment with the doc (I hate going to the doctors). There's a few other 'issues' that are overdue so I might as well kill a few birds with one stone.

I'm not unduly worried about the results, for me it's not IF I get diabetes but WHEN. My maternal grandmother, maternal uncle, my mother and my only sister all had/have type 2 so I think I'll be pretty lucky if I escape its clutches.
