Dog Poop Bags Warning

I am wondering if any of you are aware that many black poop bags as sold in the cheap pound stores for about £1 per 100/150bags are very porous. I for one have always doubled up on them to ensure my fingers do not get contaminated but seeing so many dog walkers use only one bag, lead me to think I should draw this to your attention. It is easy to tell if you have the porous bags by simply partly filling them with water and see if they leak. However, recently I came across a much stronger and safer bag sold by Ardale international and although generally dearer, they are still good value, as I now only use one bag. Also, they are fragranced and the firm donates 5% of their sales to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association which is even more reason for me to buy them.

PS If you look up Ardale International on the web, they will probably tell you your nearest stockists.

I use Tesco nappy bags - don't smell too perfumed, nice and big and degradeable. Until recently they were 30p for 75 so I stocked up. I see they are now 75p for 75 - still good value.

Interesting, although I don't really have a problem with them.
I only have a small dog, so there is not a lot to pick up and it's quite easy.
Plus Peps does most of her business at home where I have a kiddies seaside spade to pick up and dispose of poo.
Plus as soon as possible I wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water

Well that is a nice man isn't it?! Im always surprised by the cost of poo bags, just cos they are for dogs they cost more so I buy ecobaby nappy sacs cos they are biodegradable. I also use a dickybag which means I don't have to walk along swinging a bag of poo next to me!

Same here.... For the price of them, you can double up if needs be... but I find that they do just the job.

My OH bought a plastic bone which clips onto the lead with a roll of bags in them really cheaply, but always the same, the refills are really expensive.

I use Tesco Value nappy sacks - 300 for about 35p.

Never had a problem, and one is plenty!

I like all of those plastic bone novelty type poo bag holders and the coloured printed poo bags. I'd like some pink ones with hearts on cos even my dogs poo is special.... yep mental
Anyone know where I can get some from?
