yeah sounds like a memory problem, this may be a bit tech, but do you have onboard graphics? if you dont know dont worry about it, what happens is if you do, the computer shares your RAM (Random access memory) with the GPU(Graphics processing unit) so less memory for the programs your running to use, either;

1) close some running applications

or

2) Get some more RAM

can be picked up quite cheap these days, and if i was to say my personal reccomendation it wud be #2!

For a quick fix like i said, try closing some running applications.

lol np laura, running applications are programs that are running, ie. Internet Explorer, Windows media Player, MSN messenger etc, those are programs/applications.

If you have any that your not using or dont need try closing them, that will free up some memory and hopefully solve your problem, or at least help it!

Think the extra memory thing might be the answer Luz. My nephew was able to fit it for me in seconds and it only cost about £30.from crucial.com

Dawn I have no idea what a RAM looks or is? Ive got a ancient computer from PC world an Advent 8764 if that means anything?

if anyone charges you more than 50 pound for 512mb of ram and to fit it too then they are ripping you off,use that as a rough guide if it helps
