advice needed

missy had 5 pups this pm , last one was born at 1705hrs
i jest been in to check her for what seems the hundreth time this evening to find that she is panting quite heaverly, im 100% sure that it isnt another pup
can anyone give me some advice ie is this the norm or should i ring the vet

i'd ring the vet just to make sure.
but how can u be sure 100% theres no more pups?

Also shes probably knackered - its hard work giving birth!
(not that I have personally!)

Hi itmiss 7, I agree with Azz, she's tired out. My bitch panted for 24 hours after her litter last year. Imagine, every muscle in her body has worked harder than ever before, and top of that she has all these kids making demands on her. It's very tiring work.

bitches do pant for 24 - 48 hrs after whelping as they are what we call ...bringing their milk through ....nothing to worrry about unless signs of Eclampsia are shown ..
