Firstly I don't believe that any dog destined as a pet should be trained for guarding/protection.
Secondly, your pup was not protecting you she was showing her distress at you arguing with your girlfriend.
Thirdly, hand raised dogs are notorious for behavioural problems so I recommend getting her to puppy socialisation/training classes as soon as possible.

I completely agree with you on this one Becky

Im actually quite shocked that anyone would even sugest this type of training to be quite honest, especially with the cross breed you own, desaster in the making

I dont agree or disagree when it comes to guarding dogs if you seen what these dogs have done you would understand my parens biggest customers are police officers and they have told us several times that the dogs are wonderful friends and protectors, now as for the nursing thing I agree but unfortunatly I had to the mother could not nurse her pups but also understand that even at 8 weeks she listens pretty well and is doing good at house training so I dont think it was a disobiednt thing nor a nerv thing likt all my beagles they get start young on pop traing so I am cofident that me or my girlfriend yelling was the cuase becuase she only got in between us( faceing my girlfreind) when my girlfreind got in my face, but then again it could be that she just wanted to be a part of what ever we were doing

this breed is like f4 her temperment is guarentied no disaster would happen unless some one were to misstreat the dog and no worries there my babies are spoiled, I might be conserned if it were a fila but the only evidence of aggression in mastiffs or boxxers is protectivness, both breeds are know to be a freinds best freind and an enemys worst nightmirrir, it seems to many people think that there is alot of agression some breeds, but I dont believe so, I think it gamieness, I wont dissagree that some dogs are mean but generally (almost all of the time ) a dog is a product of there surroundings

I love mastiffs, I own one myself, I also love boxers, great bouncy beauties

I do in no way agree with bandogs, I can not see any reason for breeding these dogs when mastiffs and boxers make great pets in there own right.
This is my opinion and I see that you live in america, so things are going to be different over there, especially when it comes to dogs

yeah this country is screwed, but also in my defence did you now a mastiff is a bandog but it is now a reconized breed, any way the dogs are desinger dog yes but the reason my parents bread them together was they used to breed akc boxers from german lines but my mother has been a k9 trainer for 15 or 20 years for the local police any ways thats why the started to breed these dogs for the benefit of our officers, also I have been around these dogs for about 5 years (not involve though) and never seen them aggresive, noe also if i did already no about these dogs on a personal level I wouldnt agree with them either but after seeing some of the wonderful jobs they do I cant help but love the breed like I said my parent have produce succsessfull police dogs and 'job' dogs

Sorry but a trained dog is much safer than an untrained one.

Can you do a recall on yours when he goes for something with in the last meter?
Do you know when your dog is ready to attack or just interested in something?
Do you know how your dog reacts to serious treaths?

I train Belgian ring (Policedogtraining) and i have never found evidence of such a dog biting, except if necessary (burglar) or a training accident.

First off I would like to say I do like Bandogges

I think in the right hands they make wonderful working dogs and faithful companions, but I do agree with Becky here about the puppy socialisation classes you had this pup as a pet dog why would she need to be 'guardian' dog trained?
Secondly this might not be what you want to hear, these are definitely not first time 'Molosser' dogs they do need experienced handling and an owner who is going to be extremely firm and consistent with them right from the start.
