Ruby - 1 year old female Red Fell Terrier

Ruby, Red Fell Terrier, DOB 09.10 - Gatwick, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Ruby needs a family with her safety needs ever foremost in their consciousness as she has strong working instincts and could easily get herself lost or run over. She could settle with another non-terrier male who is tolerant of 'terrier hype'. Needs understanding in managing her outside, ever on an extender as 'hot headed' initially around other dogs but settles and it is literally 'hot air'.

Her Story: Taken out of an Irish pound as a youngster and was fostered in with a "4 dog pack" of mainly collies but not good around cats and ‘tempestuous’. She needs the right kind of pack to harmonise with her terrier spirit. Went into a family who had lost their old terrier, but they could not cope with her energy and proceeded to place heavy labels on her 'spirit' as some people who aren’t attuned to terriers can do.

Video: Ruby on her walk. Imagine her off lead …. Bye!!!!! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj-yr...ature=youtu.be

Advert: Ruby is precious. She is young and 'red headed' ha ha! She is focused on 'the hunt' and so her working roots dominate her walk when out. She could settle and run with the right pack. We find non-terriers, who are connected to their owners, can be invaluable to absorb the busy terrier energy. This little Miss Terrier however shouldn't be off lead for sometime as she is too shrill, unconnected and the diverse will always take precedence and she needs to settle and understand her walks in a different way to her instinctive focus.

Ruby is a titch! A Red Fell Terrier with a wire coat, just 13-14" to the shoulder. She is thin, wiry and full of zest. In the house she would settle wonderfully, a little mischief perhaps but on the whole resting. Her housetraining needs attention but is achievable. Terrier fans who are responsible and understand how vulnerable true Terriers are need only apply.

I watched the video and tbh, I think she looks like a good challenge for the right person. Hope she gets the perfect home for her.
