He's never done that before (cringe)

So out on our evening walk, spotted a few dogs on the one field so went the other way, turned the corner into the other field and there is a man with an offlead dog, called Tyler who was offlead and he totally ignored me and did a runner towards this man and his dog

I caught up with him put him straight onlead and apologised to the man,who said it's fine and I actually found myself saying he's never done this before,I could have cringed as that is one saying I hate.

More work on recall me thinks,in 7 years he has never run after another dog

Haha well you escaped the naughty teens, so the only way to describe this must be a mid life crisis he's going through It must be all the new exciting smells tempting him, and yes the shock when they do something naughty does make the silliest sayings pop out of your mouth

Sally I wonder if this has anything to do with your moving and Tyler being walked in a new area.

A bit of revision is called for I think

I wouldn't worry about it too much. A bit of extra recall practice should work for you both.

Zane is 5 1/2 and still has recall lapses every now and then!

Perhaps he thought he'd just spotted his life's soul mate!

Moving definitely has affected the Ayatollah. I am really tempted to close off the gap that allows her to see right up the road if she doesn't stop barking at stuff soon. But deep down I actually think it's nice that she's got a bit more 'outlook'.

And it won't solve the problem of her being able to hear the penned in guard GSDs at the back at night. Glad to say she only barks when they start and then gives up leaving them to continue for hours. (I think she is intrinsically too lazy to keep anything up for very long!)

She couldn't hear stuff going on at the back before we moved here and there are lots of ramshackle old workshops and such and almost ALL of them have the statutory GSD that never goes anywhere so not surprising they bark for hours on end.
