I have 2 ridgebacks and as you know, they are hounds, i thought it would be nice if could take him to classes where he gets to do "hound stuff".

Anyone got any ideas?

Personally, i think breed only clubs are detrimental as you loose sight of the fact you just have another canine, and *some* breed type trainers can tend toward thinking your breed is kind of a different species to other dogs, so requires some sort of 'unique training'.
When, really, all dogs need is a good dose of obedience, mental stimulation, and socialisation.
If you go for a club of your 'own type' only, then i think this can have a detrimental effect on good all round socialisation, especially in regards to your breed learning all about the traits, mannerisms, and body language of all type and shapes and sizes of dogs.
All of which can only serve to give your dog better canine social skills.

How about joining a scentwork or tracking class?

i agree we have a coonhound and she goes to normal dog classes does jumps, tunnels and a frames,i spoke to a coonhound breeder in the U.S but all he was interested in was using them to hunt they were kept in an outside pen and not pets, zara is a pet first and foremost and that is what we are concentrating on at training.
