It helps if you stay busy and get out the house. When Toby was in last year I ended up staying with a friend who was closer to the vet and even though I still missed him and was thinking about him all the time it made it so much easier not being at home in an empty house.

Toby was in for 10days and I've never felt so guilty, especially as I hadn't known when he went in that it would end up being so serious and had told him I'd be back later to pick him up.

Once he was well enough to care about his surroundings he thought it was brilliant! People there 24hrs to fuss him, food every 2 hrs (only the best stuff of course!) and plenty of snoozing. Even after all they've done to him with tests and medicines etc he still thinks the vets is the best place in the world!

thanks for all the support, unfortunately the vet called today to say that Bruno was very distressed and they had to sedate him as were worried he was going to do himself an injury - he also managed to get his teeth caught in the cage as was trying to escape... He is an hour away and because of my emergency c-section I can't drive, Phil is back at work today and i have all 3 kids so no way of getting up to get him today, but I called earlier and they said he is better with the slight sedation. He is doing the staffie pathetic crying and basically just needs someone to be sitting with him the entire time he is there, its because he is in isolation room away from the other dogs but also means he doesn't have the people either... poor wee lamb roll on tomorrow when I can get him home

Oh it breaks your heart doesn't it - poor Bruno Its great that the vet gave him a light sedative and tomorrow is almost here now. So glad that the op went well and you will all be reunited very soon.

Poor chap...he wants to come home, doesn't he? I guess it's a good sign. Good luck with picking him up tomorrow.

So sorry I missed all this Dani, but glad to hear the op went well, and I'm sure he'll be fine once you get him back home with you tomorrow, but it must be ripping you apart knowing how much he's missing you and wondering what's going on poor little man. Soon be tomorrow and you will have him back home with you.

Sorry I missed this Dani - so glad the op went well; just one more night and then your lad will be back with you.
Big hugs.
