Adding Calcium

The raw food I'm using is generally minced and contains about 8 to 10% bones - do I need to add Calcium to the diet?

I would strongly advise against it, if you feed eggs, then powder the shell and feed it.

Thanks, I was concerned that over supplementation of Calcium can cause issues, however at the same time not enough is no good either.

Assume that the bone content of the minced raw is sufficient then.

Sorry can I hijack this thread and bump it.....

I have the same question ......is a mince containing 10% bone providing enough calcium for the phospherous/calcium ratio?
If I also gave bones, say twice a week, would that upset the phos/cal balance?......or am I being too pernickety here?

Bones contain phospherous and calcium in the right ratio so you wont upset the balance

Most diets I have read tho call for 20% bone so I would add in the odd chicken wind or ground up eggshell or fish
