Oh no Vicki how and why????
I love John Martyn, I saw hime live at an open air concert in my formative years and I have loved his stuff ever since. My OH and son say he's depressing! I love it though. So sad.....

I noticed Phil Collins describes him as 'uncompromising' - I like that in an artist and a characteristic that IMO is necessary to be really great, (and sadly lacking in many today)
For me being really great does not mean being on the TV news every other night and appearing in some glossy magazine, it means doing what you do well and not playing to the media to gain publicity.
