a word of warning Foxy, as Benji is only small (and garlic is still a member of the onion family) try him with a very small amount fist. AlanR tried it with Pip and she had an adverse reaction to it, so please be careful

Oh thanks for that tip Ashlady, I will be careful just to give him a little bit then just in case.

J, there has been some research done in Italy (I think) on garlic repelling mozzys from biting people & it was found to be effective

Do think it needs to be taken constantly tho

hay guys just a quick note on this... I also feed 'naturally' and once had a reaction with a flea product on a rescue dog. (she came up with a rash all over and then had bad dandruff for weeks until her skin healed) anyway since then i always use garlic, but find it a pain to crush up the cloves etc. and the synthetic pills don't impress me much. Anyway since becoming a horse owner, i have found that horses too get garlic, and it comes in a huge tub, powdered or crushed. So i have one in the house for the dogs too. I still use fresh occasionally, but a little powder every day is real easy.... for those who have an equestrian shop nearby!

p.s. garlic is part of the onion famliy, but you need a helluva lot to poison a dog. Most dogs can cope fine but like humans occasionally you get one who has a reaction to onions/garlic.
Everything in moderation!
